Beatles, Buddy & Brumbeat Show
Reviews of the trial 'Beatles, Buddy and Brumbeat' at Wootton Wawen Social Club - April 24th
I went along to see the show and catch up with Dave Scott-Morgan who I hadn't seen in several years. The show was very entertaining, well informed, and very nostalgic for those of us above a certain age! I hope a younger generation get to see this to learn a thing or two. Dave, Mandy and Alex made an excellent job of the music - occasionally supplemented with a drum track - the sound was well mixed and the video backdrop well put together. I missed the name of the guy in charge of mixing and video, but thanks to you too! Dave has a very relaxed and personal style on stage, with a bit of banter from his charming wife and his voice on top form. I would recommend anyone to go and see it, coming to a stage near you soon! It was great having Earthrise on the CD player during the drive home. Tim Constable
I was lucky enough to be working the bar for the trial gig yesterday. I had no idea what to expect! I thoroughly enjoyed the whole gig. Especially loved the use of the projector during each number, I've never seen this done before it is certainly a unique touch. They all took the time to speak to people before during and afterwards which is normally unheard of. My only issue is it wasn't long enough! could have listened to it all day long. if you get the chance don't miss seeing them! Rhi Hutchins
What a great surprise! This show exceeded my expectations. I thought I would just be listening to great music, but this was something else. I'm quite discerning when it comes to entertainment, but this show had ALL the ingredients - music, nostalgia, anecdotes, humour (Mandy was so funny) and the right pace. I was mesmerised from the Golden Oldies through to Mr Blue Sky. Bring it on!!!!! When's the next one? Jayne Read
I got chance to see this new show yesterday, billed as a trial show for the new three piece band of Dave, Mandy and Alex. Wow what a nice couple of hours of entertainment from the band. Really enjoyed the music, you all sounded fabulous. A nice selection of songs, some of them I knew and some I didn't. Dave's stories intermingled with songs was a real treat and it made us laugh, go 'oh yes' and a bit of clapping along. I loved the learning the chords piece and the background riff with the story telling. A solid set of songs played so so well, get to hear some ELO but even better to witness some Dave Scott Morgan penned songs live also. It was great to meet and chat to Dave, Mandy and Alex during the afternoon so nice of you to take this time out for fans. If this gig comes to a place near you, don't miss it its great and you will have a jolly old time. Only one thing to add. it went by to quick :-) well done to you all Dave Jones
Had a fabulous afternoon yesterday watching Dave Scott-Morgan, ex ELO at Wootton Wawen Social Club . A really great show and we had an amazing afternoon, this guy and his backups are really great. Well worth seeing Ann Crang-Taylor
A social club in deepest Wootton Wawen - a quiet sunny Wednesday afternoon in rural England, a gathering of seventy or so as an informed but unsuspecting audience for what had been billed as a ‘trial performance’ by Morganisation on a theme of ‘Beatles, Buddy & Brumbeat’. I promise you - this was a gobsmacking epic performance of an inspired show rich in history and innovation, faithful to its roots yet modern and exciting in its promise for the future! Wootton Wawen - could have been Wembley!! Brian Todd
Yesterday I attended a show to see Dave, Mandy and Alex perform What a show full of great music, singing and fun . Highly recommend you go and see them if you get the opportunity you won’t be disappointed . Well done guys brilliant. Beatrice Townsend
Thank you Dave and Mandy, Alex and Paul for a fantastic day at Wootton Wawen Social Club yesterday - Brilliant xxx Tina Edkins-Slater
Dave Scott-Morgan, hit songwriter & former ELO guitarist (81-86), brings a joy-filled show featuring music of the Beatles, Buddy Holly, Chuck Berry and ELO plus Dave’s own toe-tapping songs, humorous and nostalgic tales … set to his own backing videos.
With lead guitarist Alex Lowe and wife Mandy on percussion, Dave laces the show with anecdotes from his autobiography Patterns in the Chaos (such as life in a world famous band, having a hit record or meeting musical legends).
If you enjoy live rock/pop music and stories of the music business in 60s to 80s then join the journey with Dave Scott-Morgan!
“Seeing this show is a must for Brumbeat fans and lovers of melody and harmony”.
